She saw it in her clients, women with melanin-rich skin who had tried everything: the serums, the treatments, the routines curated by people who didn't look like them. They couldn't understand why their hyperpigmentation kept returning, why their acne kept cycling back, or why nothing seemed to hold.

The industry kept pointing at what was visible. Nobody was talking about what was underneath. That question, what is actually happening beneath the surface? became the foundation of everything Ja'Kelli has built since.

She founded Skinostics on a simple but radical belief: the skin barrier is not a secondary concern in skincare, it is the primary one. She called this philosophy Barrier First™ and built every product, protocol, and educational offering around it.

Ja'Kelli didn't stop at philosophy, she went back to school to prove it. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Skin Biology and Dermatological Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, the only program of its kind in the country. Her research focuses on barrier dysfunction as a primary driver of hyperpigmentation in skin of color.

She calls herself The Barrier Scientist. She is a licensed esthetician who has treated real skin in real rooms for years, a graduate researcher studying that same skin at a molecular level, and a founder translating both worlds into a brand that reflects clinical, academic, and cultural expertise.

Skinostics exists because Black and brown skin has never been the problem. The problem has been a beauty and dermatology industry that treated it like one. Barrier First™ is the answer she built when she got tired of waiting for someone else to.

Orders All sales are final. Please carefully read all product descriptions and notations before placing the order. It is to the company’s discretion to accept or deny any discount or coupon codes. Only (1) discount can be applied per order. Discounts cannot be applied to previously placed orders. Any shipping changes or requests that need to be made to an existing order should be requested within 24 hours of purchase. Any request made outside of that time frame would be to the discretion of the company if it could be honored. Orders are unable to be edited once made, therefore a new order would have to be placed if an item is looking to be changed, added, or removed from an order. In these cases, as long as the order has not been fulfilled and/or shipped, we will accept canceling an order outside of the 24-hour window, but only once a new order has been placed by the customer. Shipping Skinostics strives to process orders as swift as possible, therefore; we’ve put safeguards in place to protect the health and safety of staff that can affect shipping times. By making a purchase you are agreeing that you have read and accepted all of our policies and terms. Priority shipping is applied to all orders with domestic orders being 1-3 business days. Unless otherwise noted, orders are typically processed and shipped within 1-2 business days. This time frame doesn’t take into consideration the time in which it takes to get the order delivered to you from the United States Postal Service (USPS), which could be 1-3 business days. It is at Skinostics discretion to accept or deny any discount or coupon codes. Only (1) discount can be applied per order. Discounts cannot be applied to orders that have already been ordered. P.O. Boxes Skinostics does NOT ship to P.O. Boxes. If your order is submitted with a PO Box in the shipping address section, we will contact you to provide an alternate address. Shipping Delays For your convenience, it is always advisable not to wait until the last minute to place your order. All orders ship from Atlanta, GA. We are not responsible for late shipments due to inclement weather, holidays, natural disasters, or carrier delays. Please keep in mind, holidays do not count as a business day and should be considered when calculating shipping times. We entrust USPS to deliver your package on time. If your package is delayed, with USPS at fault, we will not offer a reimbursement of shipping charges. Failed Deliveries / Refused Shipments / Incorrect Shipping Address Incomplete or incorrect address information is the major cause of shipment delays. Check the address information on your order. Make sure you have included ALL information (address, apt#, etc.) needed to deliver your package. Your order will be shipped via USPS to the address you provide. It is extremely important that you give us the most accurate and complete information possible. If an address correction needs to be made after your shipment has been sent, we will make every attempt to correct the address, however; there is no guarantee the address change can be corrected after the package has been shipped. If we are successful in doing so, we will send you a change of address confirmation email. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR REFUSED OR ABANDONED SHIPMENTS. If a shipment is returned to us due to an incorrect address you will be responsible for additional shipping charges. Incorrect Item(s) or Missing Item(s) If you believe that part of your order is missing or incorrect, please contact Customer Care via email at hello@skinostics.com. If an item appears to be missing from an order, we will immediately address the mishap by resending that item as a top priority. Missing items must be reported within 24 hours of the delivery date to hello@skinostics.com . We apologize for any inconvenience. Lost Shipments If your tracking number shows that your package was delivered but you did not receive it, please check around your home and with neighbors who may have signed for and received your item(s). It is the customer's responsibility to contact USPS right away and initiate a trace for your package and have them start an investigation. Ultimately, if USPS is responsible for this lost shipment, we will issue you a refund or replacement. Damaged Shipments If your package has been delivered and your package has been damaged, which resulted in loss of product(s), please keep all original packaging and contact Customer Care immediately at hello@skinostics.com with the subject line “Damaged” along with your order number showing pictures of the damage, within 24 hours of the delivery date. We will contact USPS right away to start an investigation. If USPS is responsible for the loss of this shipment, we will issue you a refund or replacement. If the product you received is deemed defective, the item is eligible to be resent if reported within 24 hours of the delivery date. Returns/Exchanges: All sales are final! We do not accept any returns or exchanges, no exceptions. Please read all terms and conditions before placing an order.
